  Delivery and Acceptance:

Delivery of goods within New Zealand is available at a reasonable charge for service.   Delivery to offshore NZ will attract additional delivery charges. Contact us for more information before purchasing if you live in the Chathams, Great Barrier, Waiheke or Stewart Island.

Goods are usually sent by courier, but larger road freighter may be required due to the size of any particular order.

North Island normally within 1-2 business day following clearance of funds but this cannot be guaranteed.
South Island normally within 2-3 business days following clearance of funds bu this cannot be guaranteed.
Rural deliveries often encounter an additional one to two days for delivery.

The customer is responsible for supplying the correct delivery address. Any costs resulting from erroneous delivery information supplied to us will be borne by the customer.

Deliveries may be affected by a number of factors outside our direct control.  We cannot accept responsibility for delays caused by circumstances that are beyond our control.  We insure your wine up to the point where it is delivered to your address.  We are not responsible for damage or theft to goods beyond this point.

Please be aware that multi-case orders can become separated. If you do not receive the balance of your order within 3 working days of the first delivery please contact Finer Wines. 

Receipt of Goods / Damage in Transit
Goods not examined at time of delivery must be signed for as ‘not checked’. Otherwise they will have been accepted as in good order and no claim for damage in transit may be made. 

Upon delivery of goods, please be sure to check immediately for any signs of damage before accepting them. Damaged packaging should be checked and noted on the delivery docket. Damaged goods should be rejected. If you sign for the goods as being in good order and condition, no claim for freight damage can be accepted. If, for any reason, it is not possible to check the goods at the time of delivery, they should be signed for as “not checked”. If goods are accepted and signed for as in good condition, no subsequent claim for damage can be accepted.

Any damage discovered in ‘unchecked’ goods subsequent to acceptance on delivery must be notified to us without delay and within 48 hours. Goods reported as damaged after the 48-hour period will be replaced only at the sole discretion of Finer Wines.

Refund Policy
In the case of not being satisfied with a purchase, please contact Finer Wines without delay to discuss the nature of the problem and how remedy may be achieved.

Acceptance of Terms

By placing your order you will be deemed as accepting without reservation our terms and conditions. In particular you accept your responsibility to check the condition of the goods on delivery and within the timeframe given above and to report any problems without delay.

Our terms and conditions may be updated from time to time. 

Please contact Finer Wines of your intention to return a product before sending. Returned goods must be returned at your expense and responsibility, and arrive in new condition. Please inform us of your intention to return a product beforehand and as soon as possible.

In the case that you wish to exchange a product Finer Wines. might agree to waive or modify the above re-stocking fee. In any case, a product to be exchanged must be returned at your expense and responsibility, and arrive in new condition. Contact us to arrange an exchange.

Cancelling your order
Please note that cancelling an order (before it is dispatched) for no other reason than you have changed your mind, could result in charges being made to recover our costs. For example, Credit card fees and freight charges are non-refundable so we will have to recover our costs from your payment.

Electronic Communications:

When you send e-mails to Finer Wines, you are communicating with us electronically. You consent to receive communications from us electronically. We will communicate with you by e-mail or by posting notices on this site. You agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures and other communications that we provide to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.

Your Account:

If you use this site, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password and for restricting access to your computer, and you agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account or password. It is illegal for us to sell wine to you if you are under the age of 18. Finer Wines reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, remove or edit content, or cancel orders in their sole discretion.

  Product Descriptions:  

Finer Wines and its affiliates attempt to be as accurate as possible. However, Finer Wines does not warrant that product descriptions or other content of this site is accurate, complete, reliable, current, or error-free. If a product offered by Finer Wines itself is not as described, your sole remedy is to return it in unused condition

Risk Of Loss:

All items purchased from Finer Wines are made pursuant to a shipment contract. This means that the risk of loss and title for such items pass to you upon our delivery to the carrier.


All wines and spirits and other goods are subject to availability. When selecting the wines or other goods for our price list we try to ensure that they will remain available throughout the life of the list. However, some items will inevitably go out of stock. If we are unable to supply a particular item, we will not be liable to you except to ensure that you are not charged for that item.

Vouchers are not transferable or exchangeable for cash.

You must be over 18 years of age to buy alcohol in NZ and we therefore only accept orders from persons over 18 years of age. It is illegal to make a false declaration of age in order to purchase alcohol for anyone under the age of 18 years of age.

Privacy Policy:
Please note that in certain cases we may run a credit check on customers; this will be kept completely confidential. Alternatively if you register for some of our services we will collect information about you to provide such services. You have a right of access to all information we hold about you.

  Wedding Registration Services:
  Finer Wines has been selected by wine lovers as their preferred registration for gifts.  We also can suggest particular wines which have been selected by the bride and groom-to-be by which their guests can buy either online or over the telephone.
